About Kellee

I didn’t start this
because I was brave.
I started because
I was broke.

Former teacher. 16 years in the classroom. And still drowning. This is the real story of how I built something that actually changed my life — and why I built My Digital Success Lab to help you do the same.

Life was good.
On paper.

I spent 16 years in a high school classroom teaching technology and entrepreneurship. I loved my students. I was good at my job. I coached bowling and softball. I showed up every single day.

And we were always, always broke.

Medical debt from cancer surgery. Bills that never quite got paid off. Watching other families go on vacation while we stayed home. Two teachers in the house, working constantly, and still feeling like we were behind. We paid our bills — but there was never anything extra. Not even close.

“I had $8 in my bank account with a week left before payday. That wasn’t a bad month. That was just Tuesday.”

Nobody tells you that you can do everything right — get the degree, get the job, work hard, show up — and still feel like you’re drowning. That was us. And I didn’t know how to change it because nobody had ever taught me anything different.

My parents always struggled with money. I didn’t grow up with any financial education. I just kept working harder and hoping something would shift. It never did. Not until I made a decision that I genuinely didn’t believe would work.

How it happened, in order.
  • 2007Started teaching high school tech + entrepreneurship
  • 2013Diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Had surgery and lost all my energy and never fully got it back.
  • 2019Became a foster family for Cam, a then 6-year-old who needed a home and someone to fight for him.
  • Feb 2022Started my online business to prove to my students it wouldn’t work.
  • Day 31Made $2.80. Ran through the house screaming.
  • 90 days in$13,000 total. More than I’d ever made in a quarter-year teaching.
  • 6 months inHad made more than my entire teacher’s annual salary.
  • May 2023Walked away from the classroom for good.
  • Nov 2023Officially adopted Cam after four years of fostering.
  • TodayRunning My Digital Success Lab from my forever home in a small town in Kansas. No mortgage. No alarm clock. No regrets.

I literally started this
to prove it wouldn’t.

My high school entrepreneurship students kept asking me how people make money with social media. I had no idea. So I told them I’d find out.

Three months of research later, I found a $7 course, invested money I didn't really have in a program, and started making content on TikTok — while my students watched. The plan was to fail publicly and come back with receipts that proved the whole thing was a scam.

“I made my first thousand dollars on day 31. I ran into my bedroom at 11pm screaming. My husband was sleeping and had no idea what was happening. He gave me a high-five and went back to sleep.”

Month two: $5,500. Month three: over $8,000. In 90 days, I had made $13,000 through affiliate marketing. My students watched every step of it happen in real time — and so did I.

Six months in, I had made more than my entire teacher’s salary for the year. I started paying off debt. Putting money away. Doing things we could never do before. And I was still teaching, still coaching, still getting up before the sun.

I didn’t tell anyone outside my house. Not my family, not my friends. I just kept working — after school, after Cam went to bed, until midnight if I had to — because I could feel something shifting. I just didn’t want to jinx it.

Eighteen months after I started, I left teaching for good.

It wasn’t just
about the money.
It was about Cam.

In 2019, a little boy named Cam came into our lives. He was six years old. He’d been through more than most adults ever experience. He needed stability, consistency, and someone who could actually be there.

I was a teacher with a lot going on. I was leaving the house before sunrise and getting home after sunset. My schedule didn’t belong to me — and Cam needed more of me than that schedule allowed.

“I built this business at night after Cam went to bed. I didn’t tell anyone. I just sat in the spare bedroom until midnight because I could see what was possible — and I needed to get there.”

The business gave me my time back. It gave me the freedom to show up for him the way he deserved. And in November 2023, we made it official — Cam became part of the Roberts family.

A lot of people who want to build something online aren’t doing it for a Lamborghini. They’re doing it because someone needs more of them. I get that. More than most.

The life I built
looks nothing like
the one I had.

We built a house in small town, Kansas. No mortgage. Paid for in cash — something I couldn’t have imagined when I was checking my bank account just a few years ago.

James and started traveling and taking time for ourselves. We don’t stress, we enjoy it. I gave us that. This business gave me that.

I’ve been to nearly every college baseball game my oldest son has ever played. I’ve been able to support my adult kids as they figure out their lives. I’ve donated to causes I care about. I’ve been present in a way that my old life simply didn’t allow.

It hasn’t been a straight line. The market changed. I had to pivot. I’m still figuring things out — I’ll tell you that honestly. But I know what’s possible because I’ve lived it. And I built My Digital Success Lab because I want that for you too.

Not overnight riches. Not a magic formula. Just a real path, real training, and someone in your corner who’s actually done it.

The things that shape
how I teach.

🎓

Teaching is in my DNA.

I spent 16 years making complicated things simple for teenagers. That’s still exactly what I do — just for adults who want to build something online.

💪

You don’t need to be ready. You need to start.

I started my business to prove it wouldn’t work. Waiting to feel ready is just procrastination with better PR.

📌

Clarity beats perfection every time.

You don’t need the perfect niche, the perfect product, or the perfect funnel. You need a direction and enough momentum to keep moving.

💬

Nobody does this alone.

I built in secret for a long time and it was lonely. Community matters. Accountability matters. You deserve both.

🧠

Mindset is the work nobody talks about.

Before strategy, before funnels, before any of the tech — you have to see yourself differently. I help my students shift how they think about life, work, and what’s actually possible for them.

💕

The reason behind the work matters.

Whether it’s a kid who needs you, a debt that needs paying, or a life you’re trying to build — your why is what keeps you going when it gets hard.
